Installation of modules
From DynPG-Wiki
Before you can make use of the functionality of the module you acquired, you will need to install it first. The zip file you received contains all the necessary files for the installation.
Contents |
Preliminaries
- Uploading files:
- Extract the zip file you downloaded. Usually you will find two folders called plugins and update and maybe some other files and folders depending on the module. Simply copy these files to the directory, where DynPG is installed (e.g. "cms" or "dynpg"). This folder usually already contains folders with the same names.
Note: While copying the files, most of them will be added to the existing folders and some existing files might be overwritten. This is normal for the installation process.
Installation
After you have uploaded all files, you can access the file "<your cms>/index.php" with your web browser. To do so, you can simply enter the corresponding URL of the backend, e.g. www.example.org/cms or www.example.org/dynpg. After that the installation page of the module will be displayed.
The module will be installed automatically, once you've accepted the license agreement and made sure, that all the requirements are met.
Completing the installation
To complete the installation of the module, there are some files that need to be deleted manually. A corresponding message will be displayed, when you access the backend login page.
The listed files are located in the "update" folder of the DynPG installation directory and need to be deleted from there.
After you have deleted these files, you can click on the link, which will redirect you to the customary login page of the backend. The installation of the module is now finished.
Usage of the module
Depending on the installed module, you will find a new menu item in the main menu of the backend and/or a new button will become available in the built-in editor of DynPG. The corresponding documentation of the module will give you all the information you need for working with it.
